Capri is a stunningly picturesque retreat located 5 km from mainland Italy in the Bay of Naples. It has been a renowned beauty spot and seaside resort since the era of the emperors. Capri town is the primary settlement on the island and can be reached via a funicular railway that operates from the dock in Marina Grande. The town's central square, Piazza Umberto, is a bustling hub that houses a handful of shops, cafes, and restaurants, and is the terminus of the funicular railway. The square is surrounded by the "Torre dell'Orologio", or Clock Tower, and the island's main church, San Stefano. Anacapri, the island's second-largest settlement, is situated a few miles west of Capri town.
