Cape Canaveral, on Florida’s Space Coast, is a must-visit spot for anyone interested in space exploration and seaside life. Just an hour east of Orlando, this barrier island combines clean Atlantic beaches with one of the world’s most important spaceports. The vibe is relaxed and beachy, with the added buzz of rocket launches that regularly light up the sky.
The main highlight is the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, where you can walk under towering Saturn V rockets, see real Space Shuttles, explore hands-on exhibits, and even meet veteran astronauts. If you can, plan your trip to coincide with a launch and feel the ground shake as a rocket lifts off from designated viewing areas – it’s an experience you won’t forget. It’s wise to book tickets in advance, especially in peak seasons or around big missions.
There’s plenty to enjoy beyond space as well. Long stretches of sandy beach are perfect for swimming, surfing, or an early-morning stroll, while nearby Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is great for birdwatching, spotting manatees, and kayaking through mangrove-lined channels. Port Canaveral, one of the world’s busiest cruise ports, is a lively place for fresh seafood, waterfront pubs, and fishing trips.
Cape Canaveral is compact and easy to get around by car or bike, and its easy-going feel is a nice contrast to its cutting-edge space history. Stay in a beachfront hotel or holiday rental, tuck into local seafood, and spend your days switching between learning about humanity’s journey into space and unwinding by the sea. It’s a distinctive mix of science, nature, and classic Florida coastal charm.

labadee, haiti
Arrival: 07:00
-
Departure: 16:00
Labadee (French: Labadie) is a port situated on the northern coast of Haiti within the arrondissement of Cap-Haïtien in the Nord department. It's a private resort leased to Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., for the exclusive use of passengers of its three cruise lines: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Club Cruises, until 2050.
Royal Caribbean has been the biggest contributor to Haiti's tourist revenue since 1986, employing 300 locals, allowing another 200 to sell their goods on the premises for a fee and paying the Haitian government US $ 12 per tourist. The resort is entirely tourist-focused, and is guarded by a private security force. The site is fenced off from the surrounding area, and passengers are not permitted to leave the property. Food available to tourists is brought from the cruise ships. A controlled group of Haitian merchants are given exclusive rights to sell their merchandise and establish their businesses in the resort. Although sometimes described as an island in advertisements, it is actually a peninsula contiguous with the island of Hispaniola. The cruise ship docks at the pier at Labadee capable of servicing the Oasis class ships, which was completed in late 2009. The commercial airport that is closest to Labadee is Cap-Haïtien International Airport.
Attractions include a Haitian flea market, beaches, watersports, a water-based playground, an alpine coaster, and the largest zip-line over water.
