"Saint Martin is an island in the northeast Caribbean, approximately 300 km east of Puerto Rico. It is the smallest inhabited sea island divided between two nations, the division dates to 1648. The southern Dutch part comprises Sint Maarten and is one of four constituent countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The northern French part comprises the Collectivité de Saint-Martin (Collectivity of St. Martin) and is an overseas collectivity of France. The most importants places to see in Saint Martin are the Butterfly farm, stroll through hundreds of colorful butterflies under a tented mesh and the Pic du Paradis, is the highest point on the island with two viewing areas that provide great views. Also beaches are a main attraction on the island of Saint Martin, it has 37 beaches total one particularly famous beach is Maho Bay beach on the "Dutch side".

Take a funicular to the top of the mountain that sits behind Puerto Plata to see a replica of the original Christo Redentor located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There is also short path to follow with nice views, a cave, and a lagoon which is really just a pool. Fortaleza San Felipe is a Historical fort located by the main bay of Puerto Plata.
