Doha is the capital city of Qatar. This capital city is evolving into a large metropolis and is emerging as a significant business hub. Doha presents a charming blend of traditional and contemporary Arab life. The city's skyline, which is still under construction, is incredibly unique and quite captivating to observe. Each building is distinct yet manages to retain an Arabian ambiance. Life in Doha is centered around the Corniche, a lengthy seaside promenade along Doha Bay, which is an ideal spot to unwind and appreciate the beautiful views of Palm Tree Island and the city's towering skyscrapers. The northern part of the city houses most of the historical sites, including Umm Salal Mohammed, a fairly large village overshadowed by the ruins of a 19th-century fort. The Grand Mosque with its numerous domes and the Abu Bakir al-Siddiq Mosque are particularly noteworthy. On the west coast, there are beautiful beaches at Umm Bab, Dukhan, and Salwah near the Saudi border. The southern region is a landscape of sand dunes and beaches, providing opportunities for pearl hunting and a range of watersports. If you ever grow weary of city life, the rest of Qatar is practically at your doorstep, offering magnificent scenery and intriguing historical attractions for those with a sense of adventure.
